Day 1. Fly from Addis – Mekelle
Up on arrival in Mekelle airport , you will be welcomed by our representative he will explain the 8 days north Ethiopia holiday tour then drive straight to hawzen via Mekele city and wukro town en route stop at Abraha we Atsibeha church – one of the oldest and finest rock church built in the 4th c A.D by the twin kings of Axum King Ezana and Sayzana.

Day 2. Gheralta – Axum
After breakfast, drive to Adigrat near to the north Ethiopia Boarder but very beautiful Tigray mountains to visit the ancient Ethiopian orthodox monastery of Debre Damo built in the 6th c A. D by Saint Aregawi one of the nine Saints who come to Tigray to spread Christianity en route we will stop at the ruins of Yeha, dating from the 8th to 7th centuries BC, and thought to be the capital of Ethiopian civilization before Axum. Day 3. Axum City Tour
To day you will explore the ancient city of Aksum and the main sites.The famous obelisks , archaeological museum, the Queen of Sheba’s Bath (which supplies water to Axum year-round), Ezana’s inscription, King Kaleb’s tomb, and the Queen of Sheba’s Palace as well as St. Mary of Zion church, where the Ark of the Covenant is kept. Men only are allowed to enter the old church but possible in the new one for both. Unfortunately, no one (except one specially chosen guardian monk) is allowed to enter the chapel where the Ark is kept. Overnight Axum
Day 4. Fly to Lalibela
Take a flight from Axum to Lalibela and start your tour after lunch to the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, visiting the North-western Cluster of churches – Bet Medhane Alem, Bet Maryam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danaghel, Bet Mikael & Bet Golgotha. After lunch, continue with the South-eastern Cluster of churches – Bet Gabriel-Rufael, Bet Merkorios, Bet Amanual, and Bet Abba Libanos. Finally, you will visit the most famous of all the churches – Bet Giyorgis, constructed in honour of the patron saint of Ethiopia – Saint George. Overnight in Lalibela
Day 5. Lalibela – Gondar
Fly from Lalibela to Gondar. On the morning visit, the royal enclosure (Fasil Ghebbi) including Fasilade’s Bath built in the 16th century. Day 6. Gondar – Bahirdar
After breakfast , drive to Bahirdar 180 km which actually takes you 4 hrs via the Amhara beautiful mountains and landscapes en route you will see the Gorgora palace then you will be in the beautiful city of Bahirdar by noon . Afternoon , continue your city tour by visiting the traditional market and walking tour as well as stop at the top view to see the city and lake tana lake .

Day 7. Visit Lake tana monasteries
In the morning, take a boat trip on Lake Tana to visit some of the monasteries hidden on the islands and shores of this sacred lake; Azuwa Maryam and Ura Kidane Mehret church. After that continuing driving to Gonder. The four-hour drive will take you through rural villages, offering wonderful insight into the Amhara culture. After lunch, drive 34 km south of the city to see the Blue Nile Falls /fafate in Amharic/ on the way back stop in mountain view to see the remarkable city and the beautiful sun set . Day 8. Flying from Bahirdar – Addis Ababa
After Breakfast , transfer to Bahirdar airport to depart Addis Ababa. After you check in your hotel continue your Addis city tour by visiting with the National Archaeological Museum, where the 3.2 million-year old bones of Lucy (a female Australopithecus apprehensions skeleton) reside, followed by the Ethnographic Museum, Holy Trinity Cathedral renowned for its stunning stain-glassed windows. If you have full day you may have chance to see the biggest market in Africa Merkato.
