Day 1. Addis – Mekelle – Hawzen
Fly early in the morning to mekelle and drive to Abrha We Atsibeha, a rock-hewn church located about 15 km west of Wukro.On the way back visit Wukro Cherkos, one of the best-preserved rock churches in Tigray. After lunch , Continue your journey to Al-Nejashi Mosque, a 7th-century mosque believed to be the first mosque in Ethiopia.
– After exploring Al-Nejashi, drive to Hawzen and hike to Abune Yemata Guh Church . Spend the night in Hawzen

Day 2. Gheralta Churches – Axum
In the morning trek an hour and half to the awe-inspiring Mariam Korkor and Daniel Korkor Churches, marveling at their ancient architecture and breathtaking views.
Afterward, embark on a picturesque drive to Axum, passing through Adigrat then drive to see the Adwa battlefields, where Emperor Menelik II’s army secured Ethiopia’s historic victory against colonial forces in 1896. Finally, we arrive in Axum, the legendary city of the Queen of Sheba and Ethiopia’s most sacred historical site, where we will spend the night immersed in its rich heritage.

Day 3 : Axum City tour
After breakfast, we embark on a guided city tour of Axum, exploring its rich historical and archaeological sites. Key highlights include:
The Obelisk of Axum: A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Ethiopia’s most iconic monuments.
The St. Mary of Zion Church Complex: Home to the legendary Ark of the Covenant (according to Ethiopian tradition).
The Queen of Sheba’s Palace Ruins: Exploring the remains of this ancient royal complex.
The Tombs of King Kaleb and King Gebre Meskel: Remarkable underground tombs showcasing ancient Axumite engineering.
The Ezana Stone: Often referred to as Ethiopia’s “Rosetta Stone. O/n in Adigrat

Day 4. Axum – Lalibela
Fly from Axum to Lalibela, home to one of the world’s most outstanding sacred sites comprising 11 medieval rock hewn churches.
Afternoon ,you will start visiting the first and magnificent of rock hewn churches of Lalibela including the S.George church . O/n Lalibela

Day 5. Lalibela – Addis
In the morning , visit the remain cluster churches of Lalibela then transfer to airport to fly to Addis . Up on arrival in Bole transfer your Hotel . After lunch , continue to see the national museum and the highlight of the city ,spend the night in Addis .
Day 6 : Addis Ababa – Jinka (By Flight)
Take a domestic flight to Jinka, the gateway to the Omo Valley. Upon arrival, visit the Ari Village, one of the most hospitable and culturally rich communities in the region. Discover traditional crafts such as pottery making, goldsmithing, and local food preparation, including how to make Ethiopia’s staple dish, injera. The lush natural surroundings of the Ari people provide a scenic introduction to tribal Ethiopia. Overnight in Jinka.

Day 7 : Jinka – Benna – Omorate – Turmi
Begin your journey deep into the Omo Valley by visiting the Benna and Mursi tribes. If lucky, witness vibrant tribal markets in Key Afer en route. After lunch in Turmi, continue south to Omorate and cross the Omo River by traditional canoe to meet the Dassanech tribe, known for their body art and unique lifestyle. Return to Turmi for overnight.

Day 8 : Turmi – Karo – Hamer – Turmi
Drive west through breathtaking landscapes to visit the Karo tribe, famed for their elaborate body painting and scenic villages overlooking the Omo River. After lunch in Turmi, visit the Hamer village in the late afternoon to experience traditional life, herding practices, and possibly the famous bull-jumping ceremony if available. Overnight in Turmi.

Day 9 : Turmi – Konso – Arbaminch
Early in the morning, travel to the Konso Highlands, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the Konso Cultural Village, famous for its intricate stone terraces, wooden statues (wagas), and vibrant traditions. Visit the nearby “New York” Gorge, a dramatic erosion landscape then drive to Arbaminch for overnight .

Day 10 : Arbaminch -Lake Chamo and Dorze Village
Morning , embark on a boat trip on Lake Chamo, where you’ll encounter large crocodiles, hippos, and diverse aquatic birds. In the afternoon, visit the Dorze village, perched at 2,400 meters, where you’ll explore their famous beehive-shaped huts, weaving traditions, and panoramic views. spend the night in Arbaminch

Day 11. In the morning, explore Nech Sar National Park, home to “Forty Springs,” wildlife, and scenic walking trails through lush jungle. After lunch,transfer airport and departure to Addis Ababa . Depending yiur time , join a welfare program in the evening at a traditional restaurant and enjoy the traditional food and music ,finally transfer to Bole airport for your international flight .
