Day 1: Addis Ababa to Semera – Dallol
The journey begins with an early morning flight from Addis Ababa to Semera, the capital of the Afar region.

Upon arrival, you will set out on a drive toward Dallol, one of the lowest and hottest places on Earth. This day is dedicated to exploring the surreal and colorful landscapes of Dallol, including vibrant sulfur springs, steaming geysers, salt flats, and the famous camel caravans that transport salt across the desert.

As the day winds down, you will enjoy the breathtaking sunset over the salt lake and spend the night camping under the stars in this remote and otherworldly environment.

Day 2: Dallol to Erta Ale Volcano
After breakfast, you will depart for the iconic Erta Ale Volcano, renowned for its continuously active lava lake. The drive offers views of dramatic volcanic terrain and desert landscapes.
Upon reaching the base of the volcano, you will rest and enjoy an early dinner before beginning the nighttime trek to the summit. The climb is rewarded with a mesmerizing view of the glowing lava lake at the top.
You will spend the night camping near the crater, witnessing the awe-inspiring display of molten lava in the heart of the Danakil Depression.

Day 3: Erta Ale – Afdera – Semera – Addis Ababa
Rise early to witness the sunrise over Erta Ale, casting light over the volcanic plains. After descending and enjoying breakfast, the journey continues to the salt-mining town of Afdera, located near the shimmering Lake Afdera. Here, you will observe traditional salt extraction techniques used by the Afar people, offering insight into their way of life.

In the afternoon, you will drive back to Semera Airport to catch your return flight to Addis Ababa, concluding your extraordinary VIP tour through one of Ethiopia’s most fascinating and extreme environments.
