Day 01: Arrival – Sightseeing in Addis Ababa
The 8 days north Ethiopia Tour takes you to discover the main sites located at the northern Ethiopia ,your guide will explain to you upon arrival and transferred to your hotel . After you refresh ,begin your sightseeing tour of Addis then drive up to Mount Entoto for a panoramic view of Addis. Descend down stop at the National Museum where you will have a chance to spot the oldest hominids of the ‘Lucy’ fossil. After lunch ,proceed to the Holy Trinity built during WWII. Then proceed to the Ethnographic Museum, which use to be the palace of Emperor Hailesellase. Finish your tour by visiting Merkato, the biggest open air market in East Africa. Overnight in Addis Ababa
Day 02: Fly Addis – Bahir Dar
Up on arrival in Bahir Dar airport welcomed by our guide and transferred to your hotel. Later, you will take a boat trip on Lake Tana to visit the 14th-century Monastery of Ura Kidane Mihret which is the most famous of the Zege peninsula monasteries. Afternoon, you will drive 34 km south of the city to see the Blue Nile Falls and have an over view of the lake tana source with a short walk to get the best view and best photo then drive back to the city to see a best view and sun set . Overnight in Bahir Dar.
Day 03: Drive Bahir Dar – Gondar (The Camelot of Africa)
After breakfast, drive 180 km to Gondar through the beautiful high lands and landscape of the Amhara region.After lunch ,continue your city tour to the Royal Capital city of Ethiopia. Gondar was founded in 1636 by Emperor Fassiladas and the city has so much to see but depending our time we drive to see the Castles and Churches built by Emperor Fassiladas and his descendants. Proceed to the fascinating Debre Birhan Selassie (The Enlightening of Trinity) with Wonderful murals art, Qusquam Church. Overnight in Gondar.
Day 04: Excursion to Semien Mountains (122 km 4 – 5 hrs drive)
Today you will drive to Buyit Ras a segment of the Semein Mountain. This is a sight, which is termed the wildest and most magnificent view of all Ethiopian landscapes. The Semien Mountains National Park is the only place in Ethiopia registered by UNESCO as a natural beauty. After you Observe the magnificent scenery, natural beauty and wild animals return back to Gondar for overnight . Overnight in Gondar.
Day 05: Fly Gondar – Axum (Mysterious Monoliths)
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Axum. Up on arrival in Axum airport your guide will tell you about the north Ethiopia tour and Tigray region then after you check in continue the city tour . Axum has more than 3000 years of history, once the center of a great empire and ancient civilization, home of the original Ark of Covenants, Axum is the prime historical site in the north of Ethiopia. Take a city tour that includes the St. Mary’s Church, the sanctuary Chapel which is the repository of the ‘Ark of Covenant’, the coronation yard, Stelae Park, the Tomb of Kaleb and his son Gebre Meskel, Ezana’s Inscriptions, Queen of Sheba’s Bath, Queen of Sheba’s palace ruins and Axum Museum. Overnight in Axum.
Day 06: Fly Axum – Lalibela
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Lalibela. Be met upon arrival and transferred to your hotel. ‘Eighth Wonder of World Heritage’ Lalibela is famous for its underground rock-hewn cathedrals. In the afternoon you will visit the top attractions of Lalibela that will simply stagger you. These churches include Bete Medhane Alem, Bete Mariam, Bete Meskal, Bete Denaghel, Bete Golgotha, Bete Mikael, and Bete Giorgis. Overnight in Lalibela.
Day 07: Excursion to Yimrehane Kristos
Morning you will take an excursion to visit Yimrehane Kirstos, located on a mountain ridge, at the peak of Abuna Yosep. This exquisite church is a masterpiece of Axumite wood and stone construction and renewed its interior decoration. The walls are subdivided vertically with recessions and projections. In the afternoon you will visit the remaining churches: Bete Gabriel, Bete Marqorios, Bete Emmanuel, and Bete Aba Libanos. Overnight in Lalibela.
Day 08: Fly Lalibela – Addis – Departure
This day you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Addis. In the evening attend a folkloric dinner where you will have a chance to taste several national dishes and watch dances of the various ethnic groups of Ethiopia. The traditional coffee ceremony will also be served. Later , you will be transferred to the airport for your depart
