Day 1 : Mekelle – Gheralta
Depart from Mekelle and drive to Wukro to visit the stunning rock-hewn churches of Abraha we Atsbeha and Wukro Cherkos before lunch. In the afternoon, continue to the Gheralta mountains for a 40-minute hike and climb to the breathtaking “church in the sky,” Abune Yemata Guh. End the day with an overnight stay at Hawzen Vision Hotel.

Day 2 : Gheralta Mountains – Adigrat
In the morning, hike for an hour and a half to explore the magnificent churches of Maryam and Daniel Korkor while enjoying the stunning Gheralta landscapes. Afterward, descend to Hawzen town for lunch before heading to explore Giyorgis Maykado Church.
Conclude the day with a drive to Adigrat, where you’ll spend the night at the Canaan Hotel.

Day 3 : Adigrat – Axum
After breakfast, drive through the breathtaking landscapes of Tigray en route to Axum. Stop to explore the historic Great Temple of Yeha and admire the majestic Adwa mountains. Upon arrival in Axum, enjoy lunch before visiting one of its renowned historical sites. End the day with an overnight stay at Atranos Fantasy and Spa.

Day 4 : Axum City Tour – Axum to Addis
Spend the day exploring the rich historical sites of Axum, including its ancient obelisks, archaeological wonders, and cultural landmarks. For a deeper experience, staying overnight in Axum is recommended. Alternatively, you can opt for an afternoon flight back to Addis Ababa to conclude your journey.
